Open Up and Say Ahhh...

It wasn't fun at all, but I survived the dentist today! 4 hours and $789 later...I have two new crowns, a filling and a mouthful of clean teeth...Oh, and 4 Ibuprofen for the pain. I have to say I would have much rather been at work, but at least I got to pick the girls up early and spend two extra hours with them. I also get the joy of going to the dentist every four months now because my gums were a little inflammed, and I definitely don't want it to progress into gum disease! I also can't wait to use my new prescription Cinnamon mouthwash! Yummy! Oh well...better safe than sorry!
I also have to share some of John's Top 10 Songs...I have been begging him to blog, but he simply refuses. I asked him the question, and here are some of his responses....
1. Fade to Black...Metallica
2. Sanitarium ....Metallica
3. Sweet Home Alabama...Lynrd Skynrd
4. Free Bird....Lynrd Skynrd
5. A Country Boy Can Survive...Hank Williams Jr.
6. Down in a Hole....Alice In Chains
***Notice the missing wedding song that was on my list :) Also, I don't think he would admit it, but I think you might find "Ice Ice Baby" on his list, too!

My "10 Tuesdays" List

Wow-I love so many songs, so this was kind of hard for me. Also, as John knows, I am the kind of person who can listen to a song or watch a movie over and over and over.... He gets really tired of it, especially since I know all of the words to the movie "Sweet Home Alabama." Well, here it goes...my top ten songs to listen to over and over are...
1. "Keep on Lovin' You" by REO Speedwagon
2. "Alone" by Heart
3. "I Can Only Imagine" by Mercy Me
4. "It's Your Love" by Tim McGraw and Faith Hill
5. "You're My Best Friend" by Tim McGraw
6. "Your Love Amazes Me" (Our Wedding Song :) )
7. "Over and Over Again" by Tim McGraw and Nelly
8. "Bad Day" by Fuel
9. "Black" by Pearl Jam
10. "Life is a Highway" and "What Hurts the Most" by Rascal Flatts (These are Jenna's faves as well~ :) )
I just have to say...I love this idea, Miranda!

SUNNY DAY!

Wow! What a wonderful birthday! I never thought that one of my favorite birthdays would be sitting at the Schottenstein Center watching "Sesame Street Live: Super Grover in Action." It was such a great time, that is after Jenna and I quit crying after dropping Alyssa at Pam and Miranda's. Jenna kept saying, "I really miss baby," and I felt so guilty for leaving her. Eventually we got over it, and had fun singing one of our songs -REO Speedwagon's "Keep on Loving You" Well, anyway, what a great birthday!
3 Tickets to Sesame Street.....$96
Popcorn, pretzel and 2 drinks......$19.50
Program................$7
Big Bird Doll............$15
Snowcone............$3
Elmo Balloon...........$8
Jenna's smile after getting a high-five from Ernie......PRICELESS!

Happy Thanksgiving!

It seems like forever since I have taken the time to "blog." It feels great to be back! :) I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! We had such a great day! It was so special celebrating Alyssa's first Thanksgiving. She looked beautiful in a "Little Gobbler" and baby's first Thanksgiving outfit! Jenna was, of course, the center of attention everywhere we went! We were able to visit my Grandma Singleton, and then we had lunch at my Grandma Franks with my mom and uncle. What delicious food-Everyone ate a ton, except for Jenna who only had two bananas and applesauce! Then another delicious dinner with the Horsley's! Yes, we did survive Miranda's cooking-it was great! Now today, it is decorating time! We are going all out this year with outside lights, wreaths, etc... Well, I guess not all out. I haven't gotten an inflatable yet-maybe that will be next!

Smile....PLEASE!

As I sit here right now, I am exhausted! Let's just say the wonderfulness from yesterday did not continue for our pictures today. I should just be thankful that we did manage to get a few beautiful pictures! Jenna just did not want to cooperate, despite the fact that I was trying to bribe her with ice cream, rides and fruit roll-ups, and the picture-taker-helper kept putting a bear and duck on his head! We were able to get a beautiful picture of Jenna and Alyssa together for our Christmas card, and then Jenna was good for one more and that was about it! Alyssa needed to be fed, but then she took a few adorable naked pictures in a Santa hat! Oh well, like I said, we did get some great pictures. At least we must have, because I managed to spend $244 dollars!! I think I need to go to photographs anonymous!

A Wonderful Friday!

What a wonderful Friday! The day always gets off to a great start when you get a phone call saying there is a two hour delay! Alyssa got an extra hour of sleep, and Jenna and I relaxed together and watched Curious George. I cherish those extra moments I get to spend with the girls! And to think I was already in a great mood because of Grey's Anatomy last night. Meredith and McDreamy together and kissing at last-what I have been so patiently waiting for! I hope they get to be happy for at least a few episodes! We had a great night visiting my grandma and eating at Donatos. We even made it through grocery shopping at Kroger! I just hope the wonderfulness continues for tomorrow's 11 am Christmas picture appointment at Sears! The girls have the most beautiful dresses, so let's just hope they will be happy and smiling! Don't worry-I have already stocked the diaper bag with my "bribes"-fruit snacks, goldfish crackers, and suckers!

A Peaceful Dinner at Bob Evans

Well, tonight John, Jenna, Alyssa and I headed over to Bob Evans for, what seems to have become, our usual Thursday night out dinner. Jenna was in a great mood and excited about getting pancakes, of course! Alyssa was her cheerful, smiley, cooing self. She is just such a happy baby! We get there and it is always such a task for those hostesses to set up our table with a sling and high chair. You think it wouldn't be too complicated, right? WRONG! We finally get to sit down, and of course Jenna starts crying for every color of crayon so John gets up to get the other two missing crayon colors. I get Alyssa out of her chair, and, for her, life is great! She loves the fans and lights. Jenna then wants the dessert menu, the table tent and everything else! She begins crying for the sugar packets, pumpkin bread and butter. She drinks all of her chocolate milk in a few minutes, and then has to have water with her dinner. It seems like an eternity for our meals to come. My wildfire chicken salad came so I put Alyssa back down, and she started crying. John, of course, is getting more and more frustrated-not really patient, if you know what I mean! We manage to eat, and then after all of that hard work and drama, we reward ourselves with a piece of apple dumpling pie a la mode!
Thank goodness tomorrow is Friday!

Thank God!

Wow, it seems like there is just so much to be thankful for right now! Pam went through her surgery well, and Jenna is feeling much better-despite the fact that she didn't have a nap today! She was way too busy playing with her best buddy-J.P! You know they couldn't take time out of their busy schedules for a nap! Jenna is now getting ready to watch the CARS movie, which John had to stop and pick up at Meijer on the way home from seeing Pam. I hope that in a few short hours I will hear the good news that the TV bond issue passed-yes, my fingers are crossed. And, hopefully the smoking band will stay and not be reversed! I read that sitting in the nonsmoking section of a restaurant for just one hour is like smoking 2 cigarettes! YUCK! I got a great evaluation today at work-yeah :) We are hopefully closing on the other house within the next two weeks-another yeah :) Alyssa had applesauce for the first time tonight and absolutely loved it! I couldn't feed her fast enough.
Now hopefully you can take a minute now and thank God for something!

I thought you could use a good laugh!!

The weekend is already over!

I can't believe that it is Sunday evening, and, in a few short hours, I will be back to work! The weekends go way too fast! Jenna is coming down with a cold, and Alyssa is crying right now for my attention. We just finished finger painting-What fun it is to watch Jenna explore and be creative, but then there is clean-up! Oh well, I guess it is worth it. I just want to remind everyone that Pam is having her knee surgery in the morning, and please keep her in your prayers. I know it will go fine, and then she will be running around chasing Jenna and Alyssa! Also, I just found out that my great-uncle Guy passed away-he was at least 80 years old, so he lived a long, happy life. Please keep his family in your prayers.

The Weekend is Here!

I am just way too excited about this blog stuff! I think I am already addicted. I just survived a trip to Walmart with John and the girls. I think I am worse than Jenna because I want to buy her and Alyssa everything I see. Of course, Jenna had to have two new Cars sippy cups and a watercolor book! I think I will go broke once I start my Christmas shopping.

To update on my last blog, I couldn't stay away from Grey's Anatomy! Why can't they just let Meredith and McDreamy be happy together for a few episodes?

How could anyone resist these two beautiful faces??!?? At least Alyssa isn't pulling Jenna's hair in this picture, and Jenna isn't looking at me with a look like "Aren't you going to give her a time out?" That did happen this week!

Thursday, November 2

Wow! I am finally back into "e-mail" world, and I have my own blog! I am soooo excited. What a day of excitement trying to finish 40 fourth graders' Ohio county research projects and keep up with Jenna and Alyssa. I'm off to give Jenna a bath and try to solve my dilemma of watching Grey's Anatomy or The O.C.-Decisions, decisions!
And now a message from Jenna:
