My Top Ten Sitcoms

Well, I first want to apologize for not joining in on the 80s fun. I loved reading everyone's lists, but I couldn't think of my own. I really love 80s music, too. Right now, I listen to Heart and REO Speedwagon...That is, when we aren't moving and grooving to the Doodlebops! But, I guess we do need to keep in mind that I was only two years old in 1980! :)

I have to update on the "diet." So far, it is going good. I have lost 15 pounds. That doesn't compete with John's 24 pounds, but at least I feel great! Like Miranda, I have had no french fries and two small mountain dews. I am finally over the starving constantly stage, which is great. I hope I can keep it up and continue to be more healthy! I feel so much better when I can walk on the treadmill.

Also, an update on Jenna's potty training. She did go #2 today in her potty, but as far as that goes, she is still using pull-ups. I thought for sure she would start using the potty all of the time, but no such luck. I know I just need to wait until she is ready. She is still the most wonderful two year old-You should have seen her today at Bob Evans in her Cinderella Princess dress. She was supposed to go to her first birthday party, but we couldn't go because of the roads. That didn't stop her from wearing her dress! :)

Well, here goes my top ten sitcoms/TV Shows:
1. Full House
2. Who's The Boss?
3. The Cosby Show
4. Growing Pains
5. Family Ties
6. Beverly Hills 90210-I even made John watch reruns on FX on Sat. and Sun. mornings after we were married! I was so addicted to that show!
7. Facts of Life
8. Rags to Riches-I watched it every week when I was younger. I remember wanting to be just like the girls in the show!
9. How I Met Your Mother
10. Friends

New Pictures to Share!

I had to share new pictures of the girls with you. Alyssa will be seven months old on the 20th...I can't believe it! Jenna had a major breakthrough today. She used the potty, and she wore her first pair of panties! Hopefully this is a good sign! Keep your fingers crossed that she will keep going to the potty so she can start preschool in March! I hope you enjoy these pictures as much as I do! I was pretty proud of myself for spending only $50.00! I know John was too! :)

My Top Ten Books

Wow, for a reading teacher, this is the most wonderful question for me! I am going to have such a hard time narrowing down to my top ten books. Here they are...
1. Chicka Chicka Boom Boom
2. Because of Winn-Dixie
3. Shiloh
4. To Kill a Mockingbird
5. Night by Elie Wiesel
6. Love you Forever
7. What to Expect When You're Expecting & What to Expect The First Year-I have read these many times, especially during my pregnancies! John got tired of me saying, "My Book Said..." :)
8. Charlotte's Web
9. I Love You, Little One
10. The Bible-I wish I would make myself read more everyday!
I really could go on and on, but I think these are my top ten!

We're off to a pretty good start!

Well, I am happy to say that John and I are off to a pretty good start to our diets, or should I say efforts for a healthier lifestyle. We actually haven't had fast food all week. Well, I guess I can't technically say no "fast food" because we had broiled fish from Captain D's and salads from Wendys, but I can say no greasy hamburgers or french fries! That is a major accomplishment in itself for us! I feel great because I have gone to Miranda and Pam's for three nights and I have walked a total of 5 miles on the treadmill. I am just so happy right now so I had to share!
I guess I did treat myself today at the movie theater because I had a small popcorn and a very tiny Mt. Dew! (The first drop of pop I've had this week. I am actually over my caffeine-withdrawal, and my headaches are finally gone :) We went to see Charlotte's Web. Our third, fourth and fifth grades went, and we got there to Star Cinemas in Grove City, and it was great. They had everything ready, and we got situated, and the movie started. About 7 minutes later, the lights went out and we lost power because a transformer blew. Needless to say, we had to reschedule again for next Friday. Oh well, I guess the positive is that I get to treat myself to another small bag of popcorn! It just stinks for me because I was the "organizer" of the trip, and I hated that it had to happen. Luckily the other teachers were ok with it-no real complaints!
One last thing I'd like to mention is please keep Jenna in your prayers right now. She has a bad cough and is getting a cold. She doesn't act terrible, but she isn't herself, and you can tell in her eyes she doesn't feel well. Hopefully I can force her cough medicine down tonight, or maybe it will be one of those very rare nights when she will take it willingly like a "big girl." A mom can always hope!!!!

My Top Ten...I mean seven....Actors

This is really hard for me, considering that most of the movies I see now are animated. I don't even know if I can name ten male actors, but here it goes...
1. Matthew McConahey (I don't even know how to spell his last name!)
2. Adam Sandler -He is too funny! I love "Big Daddy."
3. Will Smith
4. Ingo Rademacher (Jax on General Hospital)
5. Brad Pitt
6. Josh ...something (He is the cute blonde on Sweet Home Alabama)
7. Patrick Dempsey
Well, I can't even think of anymore right now!

A New Year Has Begun!

As I sit here typing with hair color on to cover all of my gray, I can hardly believe that it is 2007. Time just flies way too fast. It seems like only yesterday I was sitting in the hospital holding newborn baby Jenna in my arms. It seems impossible that she will be three this year, and Alyssa will be one year old! I know we have had a few hardships these past two years, but I just can't help but think that this will be a wonderful year!
There are many things I anticipate, hope to accomplish and want to see happen in 2007. Here they are....
1. Jenna become completely "potty trained."
2. The whole family lose weight (But most importantly, me win the competition! Come on, you know I had to say it because I am a competitive person!)
3. Alyssa talk and walk! She is already saying da-da, of course, and ma-ma a few times!
4. John and I improve our relationships with Christ. We are both trying to be more faithful servants to our Lord and Savior.
5. Spring break and summer vacation, of course!
6. Pickaway grow, especially with more children.
7. I am really looking forward to our vacation. We were on Disney websites today checking out all of the pricey resorts and packages!
I just wanted to share some of those personal goals that I have. Please, please, please pray for me as I start to diet tomorrow. I hope I can do it because I was already trying to get John to postpone our diets until after breakfast. I even offered to buy him breakfast at Bob Evans, but he, with more will power, declined! He said, "if we are going to do it, we have to be strong and start it." I will have to keep reminding myself of that. After stepping on the scales at Pam's, I know this is something I need to do! Please keep me in your prayers! :)
