Here it goes...

Here are the things that put me in a BAD mood....
1. Smoking...I absolutely can't stand people smoking anywhere around me! I especially can't stand when they will light up right beside my girls! I don't know why some smokers are so rude and light up right in front of the door where you have to walk.

2. People not using their turn signals in their car...Is it really that hard?

3. Other kids being mean to Jenna....I know I am so protective, but I have to bite my tongue if another kid is mean to her. I know it is part of life, but I don't want Jenna or Alyssa to be treated badly.

4. Impatience...I don't know why some people can't be more patient.

5. Students not turning in their homework...It makes more work for me, and I really hate to give up my lunch time to stay in with them at recess!!! (Confessions of a teacher!)

6. Gaining Weight

Here are things that put me in a GOOD mood...
1. Jenna and Alyssa...especially when I see them smile and hear them laugh!

2. John...that is, when he is in a good mood!

3. Going shopping and having money to actually buy things

4. Coaching soccer...especially when the kids are listening

5. Teaching...again, especially when teh kids are listening and willing to work!

6. Losing Weight

In It To Win!!!

Yesterday we enjoyed the beautiful day, and we played putt-putt for the first time in Lancaster. We had so much fun! Jenna was so cute with her little putter, and she did a great job putting! Alyssa had a tiny plastic golf club and she clutched her little pink golf ball the entire time...that is, until she lost it at one of the holes! Well, John and I are pretty competitive! It started off great for me, and I was ahead of John by 2 or 3 strokes. Needless to say, he was not in a great mood and he kept saying how stressful it was to putt-putt with the girls. Yeah, he tried to blame his own daughters! On the 16th hole, I lost my lead! I messed up a hole, and I couldn't recover. John ended up beating me 59 to 60. I can't believe I lost by 1 stroke! Oh well, it was a fun day! I have some adorable pictures that hopefully I can post soon!

While I'm talking about being "in it to win," I will confess that John and I got a little competitive playing Sesame Street Chutes and Ladders with Jenna for the first time. It is really pothetic when John even cheated to try to beat me. I have to say that he did finally admit that he went the wrong way on the board, but he still tried to cheat! We are really bad! Now I know why Jenna always wants to win!!!

Our first soccer game is this Sunday! We don't really keep score, but you know I do! Hopefully Team Burn can start the season out with a "win!"

More pictures to share...

I had to share a few pictures from our anniversary yesterday! It doesn't seem possible that John and I have already been married 8 years...8 wonderful years! I am so thankful that God has blessed me with such a wonderful husband. Despite his lack of patience, he really is a great guy-a great husband and the best daddy to Jenna and Alyssa :) I have to say that there is nothing like celebrating your anniversary with soccer practice and then pizza. But, at least Miranda made a delicious cake for us to have for dessert!

I had to share a picture of the Vera Bradley purse and 8 roses that John gave me! I already took my package of 24 Sharpies to work that he gave me too. He couldn't really understand why I wanted a pack of markers for our anniversary, but I have never had so many different colors of Sharpies!
These are pictures from our FUN day at COSI on Sunday. Sorry...I can't figure out how to rotate a picture before I put it on my blog! I am lucky just to get the picture on the blog!

Which One?

Here are my answers for the Top Ten list this week...
1. Leno or Letterman? Neither...I am asleep by then!!!
2. CBS, ABC or NBC? ABC...Lost & Desperate Housewives!
3. Chocolate and Peanut Butter or Chocolate and Strawberry's? Definitely Peanut Butter!
4. Disney or Warner Brothers? Disney!!!
5. Movie Theater or VCR/DVD? Movie Theater (I love going to movies, but I don't usually have the time now. I hope a good Disney movie comes out soon!)
6. Coke or Pepsi? BOTTLED WATER! (Before I started my diet, it definitely would have been Pepsi!)
7. Pens or Pencils? Pens
8. 60's, 70's, 80's or 90's? 90s
9. dog or cat? DOG
10. Monopoly or Trivial Pursuit? Definitely Monopoly!
I have to tell a little about Monopoly right now. My dad was a huge Monopoly player! My grandma always said he would sit and play by himself when he was little. I guess the practice really paid off because he truly was the best Monopoly player ever. I don't know how he did it, but he always managed to acquire all of the properties and have hotels on most of them, too! I remember counting which numbers I could roll to be safe when it was my turn. He would sing a song, "Come on down...Come on down...Come on down to Mark's Motel Town." I would always challenge him to a game, and he would always say he didn't want to waste his time because no one could beat him. He would always end up playing me though...and winning! I always thought that I would beat him just once, but of course I never did! I never knew anyone to be so good and unbeatable at Monopoly! Well, I just had to share that because I can't think about Monopoly without thinking about my Dad! Now that I am crying and thinking about how much I miss him, I will say bye for now!

I hope to post my pictures from COSI soon!

Just Had to Share....

Fun at the Ohio State Fair! Alyssa and Jenna both love the Merry-go-Round, and Jenna loved the little Scrambler!

Jenna had her first dentist appointment, and she did great! She has 20 teeth and no cavities! She kept her mouth opened when they cleaned and checked her teeth, but she wouldn't use the "straw." She said she will when she "gets bigger!" She loved getting a new toothbrush, floss, toothpaste and toy from the treasure box!

Fun at Deer Creek! Jenna was finally able to use her Princess fishing pole. She had a great time. I can't remember if this was before or after Jenna got the hook in John's finger when she tried to cast her own fishing pole :) He casted the pole from then on!

This has been the most wonderful couple of weeks! I have had so much fun with Jenna and Alyssa lately. I just get so upset when I think of how often I take them for granted or get upset with them when they won't go too sleep early enough or do exactly what I want. I just can't imagine my life without them! Sorry-I won't ramble on any longer. It was just hard this morning because I took them to their sitter's house for two hours while I worked in my classroom. I hated leaving them, but I knew we needed to start getting back into a routine. It made me feel both sad and glad when Jenna didn't want to leave with me!!! I am glad to know she is happy at the sitter's, but I thought she would be ready to go with me right away!
Tomorrow we have our first soccer practice for the fall season. Jenna isn't exactly thrilled yet that we are now Team Burn instead of Team Fire. She thought we would be the same team again. I am excited to coach again, but I am a little worried that we only have 4 girls and 2 boys on the team. We'll see how that goes!
I am so excited to take Jenna to Preschool Open House on Thursday night! I can't believe how much she is growing up. We went to Gap and bought her the most adorable dress and matching headband to wear on the first day! I can't wait to see how cute she is in her dress and Princess backpack! You know I will have plenty of pictures to share from her first day!
I just had to share too that John and I will be married 8 years on August 14th. It doesn't seem possible that we have been together almost 14 years total...He is a great dad and husband!
